April is the unofficial “official” month to begin planting outdoors. Why?
This is because it’s usually the date of the last freeze, or the date when freezing will be the least likely to occur in the spring season. Of course, this is not always the case, as the weather is unpredictable sometimes, but that’s the safest course to go on for your plants.
Even if the freeze date is earlier than that, most plants need warmth and good soil to grow well. If spring is still a bit too chilly for the plants you already put in the ground, they most likely will not grow strong and healthy, or at all.
